Although I love my own photography, I genuinely like reviewing, assessing and judging other people's work too. I'm deeply aware of the responsibility that has been placed upon me, but I always enjoy the process, searching out the gems, discovering great images, and appreciating the work of other photographers.
Luckily I have been fortunate to climb the ladder of judging experience, (and acceptance), through regional and federation events to national, and international exhibition level. I am delighted to now be included on the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain national list.

DIGITAL PRESENTATIONS
"TALKING PICTURES", "THE ELOQUENT LANDSCAPE" & "DIVERSIONS"
In response to requests from clubs I now offer three digital presentations.
"Talking Pictures", is so titled because that's what I will be doing during the talk, but also because I like to think that my pictures communicate, or talk to you. It covers my own approach to picture making, and discusses camera craft, location photography, and features some of my most popular or successful images, along with some previously unseen new work too.
Following the success of Talking Pictures I have compiled a further presentation "The Eloquent Landscape", relating my emotional response to the landscape, and featuring images from Iceland and Stoke Common, among others.
"Diversions" is my most recent offering. Primarily I am a landscape photographer, having a particular affection for the natural world, but there are times when I find myself in other varied locations by circumstance or opportunity, so this lecture provides me with an chance to show different aspects and styles of work when landscape photography isn't possible.
To book these lectures use the Contact option on this website and I'll get back to you. Please download the PDF files for details about my talks by clicking the boxes below.
Forthcoming commitments
I'm pleased to say that my talks are generally well received, and flattered that some people make a special effort to attend a lecture, or see me judge. To that end I list here my bookings for the next few weeks. If you wish to 'attend', as a courtesy to the club concerned, please contact them in advance to ensure that visitors are welcome.
